Here are some tips that help make camping better.

Tip #1 - If it’s really cold at night when you’re camping here’s a hint to help warm your feet. Fill
a Nalgene water bottle with boiling water (use caution not to spill it on your hand) put the cap
on tight and make sure it doesn’t leak. Put it in a sock to keep from burning your feet and roll it
into the bottom of your sleeping bag to get it warm. In the morning you can use it for drinking
water since it’s already been boiled.

Tip #2 - Did you know that if you lightly saturate a cotton bandanna with insect repellent and
tie it around your neck, flying insects will keep reasonably clear of your head

Tip #3 - Take a pair of work gloves on your campouts. It will make it easier to collect wood for
the fire, and will also make it easier to tend the fire.

Tip #4 - Garbage bags weigh next to nothing and have tons of uses, especially in bad weather,
so take a couple of extra when you go camping.

bulletLine regular stuff sacks with garbage bags for two layers of protection.
bulletLine the main compartment of your pack with a garbage bag.
bulletUse a garbage bag as a rain cover for your pack.
bulletUse a garbage bag to make a "floor" in your vestibule and keep mud and water away from
your gear.
bulletIf you’re caught in dangerous weather, use garbage bags as an extra layer, "wear" one by
poking holes for your head and arms.
bulletUse garbage bags as a place in which to stash wet gear so that everything else doesn’t get
soaked. Just don’t forget to take the stuff out when you get home.
bulletUse a garbage bag to collect snow you’ll melt for drinking.
bulletPlacing a plastic garbage bag over logs in a triangle will create a wash basin.
